Using the Calf Hero™ Backup Battery Power for Calf Hero™ Colostrum Pasteurization
Anton’s Farm has about 1200 cows and has been in business at the current location in Manitoba Canada since 1984. The Farm currently uses a Calf Hero™ 12 and a Calf Hero™ Thaw machine, with our amazing Calf Hero™ colostrum bags and snap tubes. They are also using our new innovation! The Calf Hero™ Backup Battery Power for Calf Hero™ Colostrum Pasteurization. Which will be introduced at the 2025 World Dairy Expo.
When Anton first called us he was searching for a colostrum pasteurizer that would not require a restart of pasteurization cycles incase of power failure. He mentioned that the Farm location has many power outages; “They can happen as often as every two weeks, sometimes multiple times a day, depending on the season.” he said. Andy Beckel, the owner here at Golden Calf Company took action and made a fix for the power failure issue by building the Calf Hero™ Backup Battery Power as an add-on to our Calf Hero™ Colostrum pasteurization machines .
When asked if he likes how the Add-on feature works he said ” it is Excellent!” “The machine continues the cycle during a power failure. It saves a ton of time and labor. No one has to go and restart the cycle or check up on the machine when there is a power outage.” We asked about the benefits and if it gives peace of mind, and Anton said ” yes, we do not run the risk of wasting colostrum that would have been left unfinished during an aborted cycle and we do not have to restart, and waste energy or hot water that would normally have been wasted had it stopped and required restarting during a power outage.”
Anton had called around and done the research when initially searching for a colostrum pasteurizer and he could not find anyone or other brand that had the back-up power option. We asked if he would have purchased the machine if it did not have the Calf Hero™ Backup Battery Power, and he said “No, and He was very happy that the company made the additions to the machine.” “It hasn’t quit.”
